FAQs
Do you take owner surrenders?
At this time, we’re at full capacity and not accepting surrendered animals. We hope to reopen our assistance request forms soon. Thank you for your understanding and support as we grow.
What is the adoption process? Do you have an adoption fee?
Yes, we do ask for an adoption donation, which helps cover the cost of medical care, rehabilitation, and ongoing support for each animal. The amount can vary depending on the level of care the animal has needed. As a general guideline:
Adult cats (1+ years): $70+
Kittens (under 1 year): $100+
Senior cats: $50
The adoption donation includes vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchipping, and deworming. Your support not only helps provide these essential services but also allows us to continue caring for more animals in need. Thank you!
Is my new pet vaccinated?
Your new furry friend will come fully vetted! This includes two FVRCP vaccines, deworming, a microchip, and spay/neuter surgery. All of this will be completed before adoption, unless otherwise noted.
While we do our best to ensure each animal is healthy and ready for their new home, we cannot guarantee there won’t be health or behavioral issues that arise after adoption.
That said, you’re never alone on your adoption journey—we’re here for you! If you have questions or need advice after bringing your new pet home, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re always happy to help support you and your new companion.
What is the fostering process?
If you’re interested in becoming a foster, the first step is to complete our foster application. Once submitted, our team typically reviews applications within 3–5 days. After your application is approved, we’ll reach out to discuss when you’re ready to begin your first foster assignment.
We provide all necessary supplies and ensure you have a dedicated contact for any questions or concerns throughout your foster experience. Foster assignments can range from 2 weeks to 2 months, depending on the animal’s age, health, and needs. If any personal emergencies come up or you’re finding the assignment challenging, we’re here to help—foster relief is always available.
Ongoing communication with your foster coordinator is key. They’ll regularly check in to support both you and the animal, ensuring a positive experience for everyone involved.
Do you do home visits after adoption?
We do not require in-person home visits, as we understand that privacy and scheduling flexibility are important. However, we do ask all potential adopters and fosters to share photos and videos of their home environment. This helps us ensure that the space is safe and suitable for the specific needs of the animal. Every animal is unique, and this step allows us to make the best possible match for both the pet and their new family.
Why do animal rescues do home visits?
Some animal rescues choose to conduct home visits as part of their adoption or foster process to ensure that the environment is safe, secure, and appropriate for the specific needs of the animal. These visits help the rescue team better understand where the animal will be living and allow them to offer guidance or suggestions if needed. It’s also a way to ensure that both the pet and the family are set up for a successful, long-term match. While practices vary between organizations, the goal is always to prioritize the well-being of the animal and support adopters in providing the best possible care.
